After many games of Stars & Lasers with friends at my club, at home and also at work, I have been receiving lots of feedback, most of which has been good, I have also had many requests for more stuff to add to the main rules…
Well the good news is I am well into the play testing of loads of stuff for the first supplement for Stars & Lasers and it is looking really… full!!!
It is at about 33 pages at the moment and will probably get a little bigger by the time I am finished putting new stuff into it.
Some of the items in this supplement were around when I wrote Stars & Lasers, but I just did not have them completed / play tested in time to make it into the main rules, but thanks to the feedback and requests I have also got lots of new stuff in the supplement as well.
The supplement will contain several new ships plus a new spacestation, plus some new weapons, and just because so many people asked for it… new simple rules to handle assault ships and boarding actions!
Also in the supplement, there will be blank datasheets, these will allow people to design their own ships to fit in with any type of fleet they want, so if you want particular types of ships with particular weapon set-ups in your fleet then simply fill in the datasheet the way you want.
I have also given new rules for a couple of scenery types that will add a little bit of interest to your games, they can be used in scenarios or just as an added feature in a normal battle, I have also included some simple instructions on how to make them.
Also included are 10 new scenarios to give you more challenges and new ways to fight space battles with your spaceships, some of those included are –
Lost and found where A small force is hunting for a lost scout ship.
We need your supplies where a One force has to escort their supply ships through an enemy controlled sector and another force has to stop them.
It will not die!! A lone dreadnought, damaged from an earlier battle, has flown into a sector held by an enemy force.
We are on our own… where a space station is under attack from and enemy force, some of these are still being play tested but most are working and are great fun to play.
Finally, there will be a new type of ship with some special sensor jamming systems on board which makes it very hard to track, this is in the late stages of play testing and is real fun to play.
I will keep you updated on any additions that I put in to the supplement, and hopefully it will be ready for release sometime in the new year.
