Yep, here it is—the first racer off the printer for my upcoming ruleset, Driftcore Racers! This design is meant to represent a fast, single- or double-seater hover racer built for high-speed futuristic racing.
What is Driftcore Racers?
Driftcore Racers is a fast-paced tabletop racing game set in a gritty sci-fi future where speed is everything—and survival is optional. Players take control of customisable hover-racers and compete on twisting, high-risk tracks packed with hazards, tight corners, and dirty tricks.
Build your racer, outdrive your rivals, and push your machine to the edge in single exhibition races—or take it to the next level in a full campaign race season. where you will get support from sponsors and fight for the championship in a brutal league where every point counts and only the bold survive.
The Driftcore Racer vehicles
These vehicles skim just above the track using thrusters or anti-grav systems, flying at breakneck speeds around all kinds of wild, twisting circuits.
In the game, each racer can be upgraded in different ways depending on your racing style. You might go for heavy armour to survive the chaos of the race, strip it down for pure speed, or load it up with advanced systems for better handling and control. It’s all about building the machine you want to race.
This first model is a lightly armoured, high-speed variant—perfect for players who favour agility and raw speed over protection.
Next, I’m planning to design a more heavily armoured version, and perhaps a more generic chassis that players can tweak to suit their needs or racing lore.
My old FDM 3D printer does leave noticeable layer lines, but I’ll be getting this one printed on a decent resin printer soon to see how it holds up in higher detail. That’ll help me catch any design issues before final release.
I’ll also be getting some paint on this model shortly—paint always reveals things the eye might miss in plain plastic.
