There are just a few days now until Salute 51 and we at Fyndoria.Games have a table at the show and we will be hosting our game the Last Drifters, a vehicular combat game set in a post apocalyptic wasteland.
The game will be a thrilling last person standing destruction derby, hopefully with lots of silliness, shooting and probably plenty of destruction!
Each game will be able to take up to five drivers and each game will have a maximum run time of 1 hour, and the winner will be either the last person with a working vehicle or the one with the least damage at the end of the hour.
We will be giving out prizes for the winners and runners up, the winner will pick up a nice new shiny paperback copy of the rules and the runner up will get a code to download a free PDF copy of the rules.
Each player will be driving a rugged pickup with a selection of upgrades, these are extra armour all round, a dozer blade on the front, two linked autoguns on the front, a heavy machinegun mounted on a roof turret and two sets of passive weapons on the rear which drop oil and smoke.
These are just some of the upgrades available in the game, there are more weapons and vehicle upgrade’s available in the rules so that you can build the type of vehicle you want, you could have a fast race car, or a really heavily armoured pick-up or van to give you a better chance to survive, or you could go for an all-round vehicle to cope with everything that the wasteland throws at you.
The game at salute will be a destruction derby, but the game actually offers a variety of game play options, you could have a crazy race around a track, either a simple dusty circuit or possibly a winding circuit on one of the city street tracks, these races will probably see some of the faster lightly armoured cars around.
Alternatively, you could play out a grudge battle between to rival gangs, just like a normal wargame, pick your points build your vehicles and fight it out, or you could set a couple of Drifters in their better vehicles against a gang to see if they can survive the meeting, there are also a variety of scenario’s to play as well.
There are rules for motorbikes, cars, pick-ups, vans, and even trucks and all of them can be upgraded, you can do all the upgrading of your vehicles from the rules or you could download the free app for The Last Drifters to build your vehicles and add all the upgrades, you can even use the app to help with game play.
